Laural is a teacher at Fort River School in Amherst, MA, specializing in teaching reading to first graders. She has also taught French and Spanish. She holds a Master’s Degree in Education. Their son, Erik is also active in the family business and holds a B.S. degree from the University of Vermont in Natural Resources.

Bruce Homstead is a Registered Dietitian and Licensed Nutritionist and is a consultant to schools, nursing homes and hospitals. Bruce provides nutritional consulting for individuals who wish to maintain health and wellness. He also works with many individuals who experience health challenges and chronic illnesses such as asthma, digestive disorders, geriatric disorders, dual diagnoses, fatigue,
allergic reactions and sensitivities, and for those who have been diagnosed with ADD or ADHD. Bruce also helps people who are preparing for
and recovering from surgery and anyone who is trying to manage their weight. He also works with athletes, both teams and individual athletes, including Olympians who want to achieve a high degree of fitness and stamina.
A graduate of Cornell University School of Hotel Administration, Bruce received his Master's of Science degree in Bio/Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport, in Bridgeport, CT. He has also received a Certificate in Applied Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice from the Institute of Functional Medicine. He is currently working toward his Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology at the University of Connecticut, in Storrs, CT. Bruce's background includes many years of experience in food service, Chef, baker, manager of several large and small restaurants and Director of Food and Nutrition Services for hospitals and nursing homes, Bruce has plied his trade in the U.S., Canada, Norway, Sweden and in the US Army.
Bruce is an Independent Distributor for Shaklee, a member of BNI and a member of the Celiac Sprue Association and volunteers his time for many community projects. An avid sports enthusiast and lover of the outdoors, Bruce enjoys traveling, cross country skiing, hiking and canoeing.

Laural and Bruce frequently attend nutritional workshops, seminars and symposia. Bruce has also attended an international symposium on diabetes and completed a course called Applied Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice.
At Homstead Health the library is large and ever expanding; it includes subscriptions to lecture series and journals. Bruce and Laural utilize the web. They network with peers to learn and provide practical information to help individuals achieve wellness.
